This trio happens to be for a fellow Savannah-based business owner, Megan, whose business, Savannah Glamour, is one of my favorites to watch and follow on social media. We both graduated from SCAD around the same time, and went into business around the same time, so it's been really fun to see both of us grow, learn and develop into the “business babes” that we are today. When Megan reached out about creating a trio of rainbow moonstone stacking rings, I knew this was the perfect project for me! Read on to see how this Majestic Moonstone beauty made her transition from a lovely idea to a stunning reality.
You’ve got to see these moonstones!
Megan mentioned that she had some beautiful rainbow moonstones that she had collected over time. If you check out her website (see link above), you'll see that Megan is quite the sparkle-loving girl and adores all things accessories, dresses, gowns and glitter! I was picking up something from her studio, and she said, “hey, you’ve got to come see these moonstones”. Oh boy, when I saw them I knew we were going to create something really cool. The shapes on these beauties were fabulous with their geometric edges and variety of cuts. After some time of arranging and rearranging, she hand-picked the three that she wanted to feature on her rings: two hexagon shapes and one elongated diamond shape. We chatted for a little bit about what style of band and fit she would prefer, then it was off to the races.
The clear goal
Once I got the main band shapes nailed down, it was on to fabricating the bezels. With these stones having so many corners and angles, it was really important to make sure the fit was just right. With a little bit of adjustment here and a little bit of tweaking there, we got the perfect fit and it was time for the final assembly and the beginning of stone setting. I love a straightforward project with a clear goal in sight!
Project well done!
I was so excited to see how this project finally wrapped up! The trio can be easily worn as singles, in any combination of doubles or all together in the stack you see right here. Versatility is key and wow, it is so much fun to mix and match. The rainbow moonstone flash is gorgeous and of course the way the stones are cut and shaped is quite unique, I do think! It makes me want to create more stacks like this! My client was thrilled, as was I, so I'd say that's a project well done!
