It’s hard to believe that it’s been over two years since I last had Paprika Southern in the studio. I love working with Siobhan and Bevin so much. They just get my vision and can always translate my (sometimes chaotic) ramblings into a cohesive shoot that exceeds my expectations.
Planning and executing a branded photoshoot is a ton of work and a significant investment, so it’s important to have clear goals in mind before you dive in. I know it’s time for a new photoshoot when I have a new aesthetic vision and a specific need to fill.
Here’s what our team was working on this time around:
Highlighting New Designs
While I haven’t released a new collection recently, I’ve designed enough new pieces to fill out a full collection and then some. I’ve added gold lines to the Celestial, Bonjour Belle, and Pearl Collections, as well as numerous other designs in gold and silver. It got to the point where we no longer had professionally styled images of my most popular designs, such as the Tidal Trio custom ring stacks, Duel-Moon Necklace, and the Solar Flare Earrings.
We were having a ton of fun creating in-house video content, but my team was starting to very gently ask for more elevated images. By the time we had shared all of our in-house content on social media more than once, I knew it was time to call in the professionals.
Personalized Experiences

My business has always been customer-focused, but recently I’ve taken an even sharper pivot toward luxury in-person experiences. From personal shopping to exclusive private parties, I’ve found that I’m most successful when working with people face-to-face. I can help clients visualize all the possibilities for customization, layering, and styling that make my designs unique.
For this reason, I knew that this shoot needed to be more than just flatlays of the new pieces (although I love a good flatlay)! We needed to create images that would go beyond the products themselves and highlight the experience of working with Kristen Baird® Jewelry.
Elevated Year-Round Content

In the past, we focused our photoshoots on a specific season, whether the holidays, springtime, or fall. This made for fabulous seasonal content, but left huge gaps during certain times of the year, especially summer. We worked around this issue by creating casual and fun summer and year-round content in-house. DIY content allows my team to keep our Instagram feed and newsletter fresh, but it can only go so far.
After two full years of improvisation, my team was politely asking for some branded photos to use year-round.
Time for My Close-Up!
I don’t even want to tell you how long it’s been since my last headshots. Suffice it to say, the photos on my website have been a bit out of date. But no more! I am absolutely obsessed with my new headshots and maker photos. (Huge shout-out to Taylor for nailing it with the hair and makeup.) It feels so beautiful, but also so me. I can’t wait to use these new images everywhere!
As you can see, we had a lot of goals for this shoot and, dare I say it, I think we nailed every one of them. Looking over these photos, it’s evident how far we’ve come over the past two years. I’m so proud of Kristen Baird® Jewelry and all the incredible work we have put in. I can’t wait to share it all with you.
In the meantime… Here's a sneak peek!
