Introducing the Dandelion Bloom Ring!

Dandelion Bloom Ring Blog by Kristen Baird

One of the many awesome things about being a jewelry designer is getting to create pieces that are exactly what my clients want. I love to figure out what’s rattling around in your imagination and bring it to life. Part of the driving force behind the Graceful Glimmer Collection was to give you more opportunities to get creative, express yourself, and bring your personal touch to the jewelry you wear every day. That’s why I’ve decided to make this collection my most customizable yet, and The Dandelion Bloom Ring takes the prize for both the most petite and most versatile ring I’ve ever created!

Choose Your Metals

The base of the ring is a teeny-tiny ripple band, but don’t be fooled by its size! Like all my ripple rings, these are carefully crafted through my signature melting and shaping process and textured by hand, so no two are exactly alike. The Dandelion Bloom Ring has two sister rings: The Dandelion Ring (band only, no stone) and the Dandelion Double Ring (two bands melded together). All three rings are available in sterling silver, white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and platinum. But that’s only the beginning…

Two-Tone? No Problem!

The Dandelion Bloom ring features an ultra-petite gemstone in a bezel setting. A bezel is a setting that goes all the way around your stone. And guess what? It doesn’t have to be made from the same metal as your band. You can choose a contrasting metal to really make that stone pop. So go ahead, put a rose gold bezel on a yellow band. Or yellow gold on white gold. Or silver on rose gold. The combinations are endless! (Okay, so actually there are twenty-five possible combinations, but you get the idea.)

Choose Your Stone (or stones)

The Dandelion Bloom Ring is available in two stone sizes. (Let’s say, petite and ultra-petite.) You can also choose from a variety of gemstones, so select your birthstone, your favorite color, or whatever strikes your fancy. The Dandelion Bloom Ring is available in every birthstone variety, which makes them perfect for gifting. (Side note: I’ve written a ton about birthstones on my blog. For a summary of all our birthstone information and links to all these blogs, pop over to our Birthstone Overview page!)

You can also go fully custom! If you have a small gemstone you’d like to set in the Dandelion Bloom Ring, send it my way! I’m happy to set a round or oval stone on your band. I’ll also add additional tiny stones for custom options. So if you’re looking for a super-sentimental way to use those itty-bitty diamonds from grandma’s ring, this is a beautiful choice.

Choose Your Size

Sizing is no issue with the Dandelion Bloom ring. I’ve made rings from size 4 to 10, truly the whole gambit! (Also, did I mention that the Dandelion Bloom Ring comes in our super-cute mini-ring box? How adorable is that!)

Just let me know what your ring size is and if you’re planning on wearing your ring as part of a stack, as that impacts the sizing slightly. Speaking of ring stacks…

Mix, Match, Layer, and Stack!

Dandelion Bloom Ring Stacking Options by Kristen Baird

The Dandelion Bloom ring is lovely on its own, but it’s even better in a stack - that’s what it was designed for, after all! I’ve been creating stackable rings for quite some time now, and I love the versatility and creativity they bring. One of my favorite commission projects, the 7 Granddaughter Rings, featured a set of seven stacking rings using diamonds from a grandmother’s watch. Each ring was given to one of her granddaughters. How sweet is that! That sentimental quality was a major inspiration behind the Dandelion Bloom Ring.

You can add to your ring stack gradually for years to come, commemorating different memories and milestones. Combine Dandelion bands in multiple metals, gems, and colors each with their own unique meaning. A stone with your school color for graduation, a diamond for your wedding day, a birthstone for your first child. Whatever the moment, you can mix, match and stack to grow your very own field of wildflowers! Happy Stacking!
