St. Patrick’s Day is the official start of the busy Savannah tourism season. For Kristen Baird® Jewelry, that means more destination jewelry design, more private parties, and more shows. Altogether, spring is our second-busiest season, right behind the holidays!
Here’s everything happening behind the scenes:
Spring Cleaning
It’s important to keep everything clean and organized, and this year we did an extra deep clean. We sent out 16 years’ worth of gold and silver debris to be refined! (Trust me, this was the year to do it.) We also went through all our old jewelry storage, broke down outdated pieces for parts, and generally cleared out what isn’t useful. You have to clear out that headspace and this was long overdue!
Travel Season in Savannah
There really is no place like Savannah in the spring. Aside from hosting the biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the South, we have flowers blooming in the squares, glorious weather, and rich history. It all combines to make a magical experience.
Here in the studio, we kick off the season by making sure that Gallery 209 is fully stocked. Our unofficial local storefront is right on River Street, the heart of the tourism district. We make sure that anyone who strolls in is greeted with a full collection of KBJ jewelry.
On top of that, more and more visitors are adding a jewelry-making session with Kristen to their local itinerary. What better way to remember your time in Savannah than to create a one-of-a-kind treasure that will last a lifetime?
Honey Horn Festival
April means one of our favorite annual festivals, The Honey Horn Art Festival on Hilton Head Island. This year the event will be on April 25-26. I absolutely adore this weekend, because I get to meet so many incredible people and the scenery is truly divine. Some of my biggest sparkle fans have come out of Honey Horn, not to mention the connections I make with other incredible artists. If you’re in the area, I can’t recommend this festival enough! (But if you can’t make it, don’t worry… just read on!)
Mountain Brook Pop-Up and Mother’s Day
If you thought I was done with shows in the spring, well… I’m not!
The Grand Bohemian Mountain Brook is hosting a very special Kristen Baird pop-up through the entire month of May, including Mother’s Day weekend. Stop in for an expanded offering of KBJ across all five collections, and get your mom something special this year.
Nash Gallery Opening!
Last but definitely not least, our biggest news of the spring… WE’RE JOINING NASH GALLERY!
KBJ will be officially installing our jewelry the week of March 16th, so keep an eye on our social media for updates. We can't wait to have a permanent presence on Hilton Head Island. It’s such an honor to be represented alongside over 100 incredible craftsmen at this Shelter Cove institution. Stop in and see us any time!
